Day 8 – Presentations and A Capella
“Are you excited?” – the question we heard a lot in the morning. And yes, we got excited by Dr. Chen about the topic “Introduction to Entrepreneurship and Business Incubation”. Once again he presented us with the main clusters of food, energy, and water. He told us success stories of startups he witnessed and the material of the future: bamboo.
Then Vishal Vasjani and Bryan Greenwood of the Ourso College of Business explained how to find funding sources for engineering entrepreneurships. They gave advice on preparing a pitch and structuring a pitch deck.
After lunch, Harald and Warren drove us to the LSU Innovation Park and Louisiana Business & Technology Center. Jason Boudreaux, Business Consultant, introduced us to the premises, labs, and incubators. Furthermore, he told us about products students developed and that are now available at the market.
Unfortunately, the baseball game in the evening got canceled. However, most of us visited an A Capella concert at the University United Methodist Church. This choir is the LSU’s flagship choir, which had several tours through Europe. They perform e.g. choral masterworks, gospel spirituals, and folksongs. It was amazing to listen to them.
